JAW Has Its Cannes Premiere
When Saatchi & Saatchi delivered their contenders for this year’s Cannes Lion Awards, JAW was thrilled to see that the content we produced was central to Saatchi’s “Lost Names” Campaign.
More than a year in the making, the Last Names/Lost Names Campaign began on a chilly early January weekend in San Francisco. Working with Conill Advertising, a long time JAW client, the team delivered some amazing content for Toyota in partnership with the NFL. Setting up a tailgating party that was authentic for Latino Influencers, Natalie & the Aguilars, and their special guest Venezuelan singer, Danny Ocean, outside Levis Stadium for the 49ers game was a challenge, both in preparation and delivery.
Director of Photography, Gary Long, and Sound Mixer, Patrick Lamm film Danny Ocean, while Still Photographer Jason Cordova sneaks in for some shots.
The challenges the team faced when filming the next phase were completely different. But an earthquake, a “fireball” meteor, and brutally hot temperatures were simply distractions from the job at hand - filming NFL Legend Jim Plunkett, New England Patriots’ player Christian Gonzalez, and Mexican flag football champion Diana Flores. Ahern Memorial Stadium in Bayonne, NJ was the backdrop for some very fun content including the Toyota “Driving a Legend” series which had our three talented athletes chatting during a spin in the Land Cruiser.

The Last Names concept quickly grew from there taking the idea of having hispanic and latino players include not only their own names on the backs of their jerseys but also their family names going back generations. And before we knew it, the idea and the content we produced, took us all the way to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. It was always exciting to present our specially sourced red boxes to athletes, media teams and prominent latino business people. Capturing their beaming reactions as they opened the box to see their personalized jersey and their proud stance as they held up the shirts with their names was a high moment during a very busy production week for our team.

We couldn’t be prouder of being the primary production company for the Last Name/Lost Names Campaign. But to also see it going to the 2025 Cannes Lions Awards on behalf of Saatchi & Saatchi, that’s the absolute best cherry on top! Check out the submission video HERE.
